Thistle appoints new CEO

Boardroom table

James Twining has been appointed chief executive officer of JLT-owned managing general agent (MGA) Thistle Insurance.

Mr Twining originally joined JLT group's senior management team as group strategy director in January 2011.

He has effectively replaced chairman Adrian Girling who stepped down from his day-to-day management role in January of this year. Mr Girling is currently a director in JLT Specialty.

The last person to have the title of CEO at Thistle was James Gerry who left the MGA in May 2011 before joining GB Underwriting as chairman in October of the same year.
