Aviva survey shows rise in uninsured SMEs
Aviva’s twice yearly SME Pulse survey of 500 UK SMEs has revealed an increase in the number of these businesses trading without insurance from 8% in June to 20% in December 2011.
The survey also discovered 29% of all such businesses were not confident that they had the correct insurance policies in place.
David Bruce, commercial product manager at Aviva, commented: "Businesses know the importance of maintaining a healthy cash flow, keeping staff motivated and limiting unnecessary costs to a minimum but it is also really important for SME owners to be aware of the significance of having the right insurance to protect their business.
