Hastings boss to face Lloyd’s disciplinary board
Neil Utley, chairman of Hastings Direct, will face Lloyd’s enforcement board later in January over his time as boss at Equity Red Star.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Mr Utley will discuss his time in charge of the underwriter which suffered heavy losses in recent years forcing parent company Insurance Australia Group (IAG) to pump hundreds of millions of pounds into the firm to shore up its reserves.
Mr Utley stepped down as IAG UK chief executive by "mutual consent" in July 2010.
