Fresh Start for Voyager

Voyager Insurance Services has acquired the Fresh Start book of business from Culpeck Insurance services for an undisclosed sum.

Fresh Start, which was established in 1999, is a niche offering which provides home buildings, contents and all risks cover to people who have difficulty obtaining insurance due to their own unspent criminal conviction or the criminal conviction of a family member or partner residing with them.

It also offers cover to landlords letting to people with criminal convictions.

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
