NIG makes business development push in the south

NIG has appointed three new area business development managers (ABDM) across the south of the UK.

Don Oakley has been appointed ABDM for the commercial insurer’s Bristol office, with responsibility or the West of England and Wales. Mr Oakley previously worked at Zurich and M4 Underwriting.

Alan Brett is the new ABDM for NIG’s Maidstone office, and will be in charge of sales and development in Kent, Sussex and Surrey. He was previously London area development manager at Axa.

And Alistair Body has been appointed ABDM at the company’s Watford office. Mr Body joins NIG from Arista, and before

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
