Nearly two-thirds of UK businesses hit by bad weather
Research conducted by Zurich has revealed that 64% of UK businesses have suffered disruption as a result of adverse weather.
The recent survey, carried out by the insurer in conjunction with the Business Continuity Institute, the Institute of Purchasing and Supply and DHL, showed that adverse weather is the biggest cause of supply chain disruption in the UK, ahead of unplanned outages of IT or telecoms systems.
As a result of these findings, Zurich has issued a green paper with recommendations for both businesses and government on minimising the impact of adverse weather.
