Zurich extends claim notification period to 30 days

Zurich has increased its notification period for property insurance policyholders from seven to 30 days, where a condition exists on policies for the reporting of riot claims.

The move followed the government's decision to extend the reporting provisions of the Riot (Damages) Act to 42 days.

Zurich said it hoped its time extension would help to minimise any difficulties customers may be experiencing in submitting a claim. The insurer urged customers to make contact as soon as possible to ensure it could provide them with information and advice.
