Brit warns brokers to stick to current claims notification deadlines

Brit Insurance has issued a reminder to its brokers of the need for policyholders to comply with policy requirements in relation to the notification of claims.

The warning followed news that the Association of British Insurers has held talks with the Home Secretary about the possibility of extending the claims notification deadline in the wake of the riots that have swept the country over the last four days.

In a statement, Brit said: “It is important to remind brokers that under the terms of our policies we require policyholders to immediately notify us and then supply as much information as possible about any insurance claim within seven days.
