FSA declines to commit to April 2012 FSCS review deadline

sheila-nicoll-2007-1

Sheila Nicoll, director of conduct policy at the Financial Services Authority (FSA), has told a meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Insurance and Financial Services (APPGIFS) that the barrier to continuing the Financial Services Compensation Scheme review is due to changes in Europe and UK.

Speaking in Portcullis House in Parliament, Ms Nicoll told the APPGIFS that the changes should be clearer by the end of the Summer and that the FSA would be quick to react to them.

However, she added that she could not promise that the review would meet the April 2012 deadline asked for by several trade bodies.
