Engelhardt voices support for Lyons
Henry Engelhardt, chief executive of Admiral, has praised the appointment of Alastair Lyons at Towergate describing him as a "very strong" individual.
Mr Lyons recently became non-executive chairman at Towergate with Peter Cullum moving from executive chairman to non-executive deputy chairman.
Mr Engelhardt told Insurance Age he knew Mr Lyons to be "a very intelligent, thoughtful person" having worked with him since 2000 when he joined the board at Admiral ahead of its flotation in 2004.
He explained: "Alastair certainly understands insurance but he also understands regulation. He is good as a non-executive, he recognises he is not the chief
