PPI complaints surge again
The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) has revealed that payment protection insurance (PPI) complaints rose to 24,955 for the period October to December last year, up 17% from the previous three months.
The figures mean that complaints in just one quarter totalled over 50% of the number received in the whole of the previous year. It also means PPI complaints accounted for half of all complaints received by the FOS.
The news comes shortly after brokers saw a substantial increase in their Financial Services Compensation Scheme levy which was put down to the rise in PPI claims.
