Towergate: SME provision deal 'just the beginning'
Towergate Insurance has claimed its deal with Comparethemarket.com to provide insurance to small to medium-sized enterprise (SME) customers is "just the beginning" of its online SME strategy.
Simon Trott, regional managing director, sales and service division at Towergate Insurance, said he hoped Towergate's online proposition would reach a gross written premium target of £100m over the next few years and that its "heartland" was the "VSME"market that would typically pay £250-£500 for premiums.
Towergate confirmed that it was currently in discussions with a number of other aggregators, as well as other possible partners including large affinity organisations and banks.
