Mark Roberts of CGI is right to warn brokers to invest in e-commerce (Insurance Age, July 2010).

We now operate in a multi-channel world with customers expecting to be able to communicate with their insurers across a variety of platforms, including mobile. However, such investment in e-commerce can be costly. Additionally, providing customers with choice results in an increasingly complex flow of information back into the business that, if not handled correctly, negates any investment in channel convenience.
