Moorhouse launches first start-up

Moorhouse Group chairman, Lyndon Wood, claimed that Moorhouse Enterprise gave brokers the flexibility networks lacked as he announced the launch of its first business.

Mr Wood said that Taunton-based freight and haulage broker Optin, which will act as an appointed representative of the group, would be able to take advantage of a software system, infrastructure and compliance support as well as his advice on the project.

The shareholding is split 60/20/20 between Optin director Mike Callard, Moorhouse and Mr Wood respectively, although Mr Wood said this - as well as the level of support offered - was negotiable and completely flexible to assist individuals or

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
