Halliwells files for administrator

Halliwells has filed for court permission to appoint an administrator as it looks to secure a takeover by Hill Dickinson.

Manchester-based Halliwells filed for administration this week with the application triggering a moratorium on Halliwells' liabilities and is expected to provide a window to negotiate the future of the business, which the firm asserts is fundamentally strong on an operating basis. It is expected that Halliwells will be dissolved after the transfer of assets.

According to fellow Incisive Media title Legal Week, the firm is in talks with a number of partners but the talks with Hill Dickinson are
