UK General appoints finance director

Michael Warren

Oliver Laird has been appointed finance director, UK General Insurance, with immediate effect.

Mr Laird, who joined the company in September 2009 as head of finance, will join the UK General Insurance board and report to chief operating officer Michael Warren.

He has held a variety of senior finance roles, most recently in Lloyds Banking Group, where he was director of central finance for the insurance and investment division.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Warren said: "Oliver is a class act and will significantly strengthen the all-round capability of the UK General Insurance senior
