Extent of Haiti earthquake damage emerges

Risk Management Solutions (RMS) has commented on the Haiti earthquake which has caused widespread damage and believed to have killed thousands.
The magnitude 7.0 earthquake, which struck Haiti shortly before 5pm local time yesterday, occurred approximately 10 miles (15 km) south of the capital city of Port-au-Prince.
At least three aftershocks greater than magnitude 5.0 occurred in the hours immediately following the main shock.
The earthquake was felt widely, including in the Dominican Republic
