Insurance Age

News in Brief

QBE has confirmed to Insurance Age its intention to pull out of the UK personal lines motor market, which makes up 10% of the Australian insurer's overall UK motor account. It is thought that QBE were actively looking for a buyer but was prepared to simply close the account if need be. Staff at the Chelmsford-based operation were informed of the decision but QBE would not reveal how many jobs were at risk. It is thought that the number would be in the tens rather than the hundreds.
