Halifax is top of the league for business crime and damage

Crime Index highlights UK troublespots

Halifax has been named as the UK's top business crime hotspot amid fears of a Christmas crime wave.

According to Axa's Business Crime Index, compiled from the insurer's claims records, one in 16 businesses in the town fell victim to crime during the first six months of this year.

Halifax also topped the table for malicious damage, while businesses in Wolverhampton were most at risk of theft, with one in 34 becoming a victim, and those in Kilmarnock of arson, although incidents of this were much
