Dave Smith says consolidating small business operation makes sense
Allianz faced criticism for drawing its smaller commercial business away from Bristol and centralising it at its Maidstone operation.
A market source said brokers had been "taken by surprise" by the insurer's decision.
In response, Dave Martin, head of SME affinity and broker markets at Allianz Commercial, said that consolidating the small commercial business operation, involving premiums of £10,000 and below, made sense, especially after the launch of QuoteSME.
