Towergate's first conference draws a blank on question of hard market

Key industry experts have disagreed over whether a hardening of the market could be imminent.

The difference of opinion was voiced at Towergate's first broker conference, Look into the Future, at the Magic Circle headquarters in London.

Andrew Sibbald, co-founder and senior partner of Lexicon Partners, said that rates must rise and used the perceived hardening in the motor sector as an example of how the market was changing, although he admitted this was by no means universal or consistent.
