Net income boost for Willis
Willis releases results for second quarter
Willis has reported a net income of $279m (£169m) for the first six months of 2009, compared with $205m last year.
Total reported revenues for this period rose by 18% from just over $1.4bn last year to $1.7bn.
Net income for the second quarter of 2009 increased by $48m from last year to $87m and reported revenues were up by 19% to $784m.
Willis said the boost in profit was largely due to the acquisition of Hilb Rogal & Hobbs Company, while the effect of foreign currency translation decreased
