Towergate's second bite at the network cherry proved to be a success, with the news that it had reached an agreement with the Broker Network to buy its entire shareholding.

The deal, valuing the network at £95m, was completed after months of speculation that either Towergate or Axa were in the frame to complete the buyout.

Grant Ellis, who will take on the role of executive chairman of Towergate's burgeoning network division, moved to assure the market that it would be a case of 'business as usual
