A move by the economic secretary to the Treasury to announce an inquiry into the sale of packaged travel insurance has been welcomed by the general insurance industry.
In response to concerns from consumer groups, the Treasury is launching an investigation into the specific problems faced by consumers purchasing travel insurance as part of a package, and considering whether any changes to the regulatory framework are required to provide greater protection.
