Billericay-based broker Peter D J Murray Insurance Consultants has become the 17th regional acquisition by Equity Insurance Group in the past 12 months. The undisclosed value deal swells the group's UK network to more than 90 branches. Formed in 1970, the broker was owned by partners Jo Harris and Stuart Murray. Ms Harris and all the existing employees will remain with the business, while Mr Murray will concentrate on its life, pensions, investments and mortgage accounts.
