Research published by Tescompare.com has revealed that almost 64% of UK people remained with their existing home and contents insurance provider at their last renewal. This was despite almost half experiencing a price rise and four million homeowners seeing increases in excess of inflation. Of the latter, just 16% made a claim on their policy in the last year and only 5% increased the level of their cover, suggesting that more than three million homeowners took the price increase for granted
