Equity Insurance has acquired Northern-Ireland-based broker Open + Direct Insurance Services (ODIS). The deal will make Equity the largest insurance broker in Northern Ireland, and will increase the company's presence to 17 branches following the acquisition of broker JMW in October 2004. This acquisition is the latest in Equity's rapid expansion strategy to grow its branch network, after expanding it to 77 branches in the past two years.
