Biba and the IIB have moved to distance themselves from an "action group" of brokers backed by MPs which is preparing to mount a challenge to the Financial Services Authority (FSA) regulatory regime.

A member of the group told Insurance Age it had set up a 'fighting fund' to finance the protest and was on the verge of launching a protest website.
