Equity Insurance has purchased Grantham broker, SMTK in its fifteenth acquisition in less than nine months. The undisclosed value deal brings the group's UK branch network to around 70, which is "well on target for reaching an anticipated 100 branches by 2008," according to Mike Hutton, managing director branch broking for Equity. In addition, Equity Insurance Group is to re-brand its national branch network. The group's 70 branches will change their Bennetts, Insure-shop and JMW trading names
