Industry support sought for new fraud initiative

A proposition for a market-wide initiative to investigate post-settlement fraudulent personal injury claims has been welcomed by the industry in principle but may yet be scuppered by individual commercial interests and the legal profession.

The proposition, floated by Ian Andrew, partner at Michael James Insurance and Property Services, would entail the establishment of an investigative unit to look into potentially fraudulent personal injury claims. The unit would be set up in much the same way
