Moody's held AIG's credit ratings constant following an announcement by the Federal Reserve Board that the US government would extend an $85bn (£47.7bn) bail-out package to the insurance giant. AIG's senior unsecured debt rating will remain at 'A2', although its Prime-1 short-term rating will be under review. This announcement followed a prior downgrade from 'Aa3' on the 15 September.
