Ecclesiastical has denied market rumours that it aims to take over broker Lycetts after it became a minority shareholder in the firm.
A spokesman said that although the insurer had been open about its plans to increase its interest in the firm over the next few years, it was "early days yet" in the deal.
Founded in 1961, Lycetts has a stated objective to continue building on its reputation for providing first class professional advice and personal service.
