The replacement of the E111 form with the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) has caused problems for both the insurance industry and consumers due to duplication of data and unnecessary form-filling caused by two government agencies not able, or willing, to share information. At present 90% of the information provided on the EHIC is repeated on the seven page Pension Service form.
