CVC and Permira have confirmed that they intend to run the AA as an independent company and will be continuing to invest in and develop the existing lines of business under the AA brand. Roger Wood, managing director of the AA, announced his intention to retire on the final completion of the sale, which is likely to be in early autumn at the latest. CVC and Permira have confirmed that Sir Trevor Chinn will become chairman and Tim Parker will take over as chief executive on completion of the sale
