Biba looks into offshore EL
Biba said it was investigating the legality of employers' liability (EL) policies underwritten by at least four new offshore entrants operating in the UK. Peter Staddon, head of technical services at Biba, said: "There is a window of opportunity for people to sit outside the UK regulatory regime and place business in the UK. Because there is no statutory requirement in relation to regulation, it is a free-for-all."
