Brokers in the front line battle against insurance fraud are to be enlisted as part of renewed efforts to clamp down on claims scams, particularly staged motor accidents, in a soon to be rolled out initiative by insurer and broker trade bodies.

Research by a British Insurance Brokers' Association (Biba)-sponsored working group has shown that most brokers simply do not know where to turn to if they suspect a claim is fraudulent. According to its survey most brokers would not consider telling
