Zurich backs ABI flood deal
Zurich has welcomed the arrangement agreed between the ABI and the Government on future flood defences. Commenting on the agreement, Anna Fleming, property claims, said: "We warmly welcome the agreement but we would stress the importance of Government meeting its side of the deal without delay or compromise. For too long, our customers, whether personal customers, businesses or local authorities, have suffered the misery of flooding, the effects of which could be reduced by greater investment in flood defences and infrastructure. We will be keeping a close eye on the progress of the deal. As the ABI has stressed, only if we can be sure that defences are there can we continue to offer affordable insurance to our customers."
