I have a demanding mistress in Canary Wharf, to the extent that I am considering moving abroad where, I understand, they are far more amenable and much less strict. As a result of European harmonisation and the Insurance Mediation Directive (IMD), I had assumed naively that all mistresses would be much the same wherever they were located. However, it seems that - rather like the Pirates' Code - the IMD is open to interpretation as a set of guidelines.
