Broker Expo 2026: Cyber uptake held back by lack of SME attack examples

Customers are using artificial intelligence to ask more challenging questions to brokers, as cyber attack education and examples are needed to tackle the lack of cyber insurance uptake.

That is according to experts at Insurance Age’s Broker Expo event at Birmingham NEC today (8 October).

During a session titled, The trust economy – why clients choose their broker, Katie Freemantle, managing director of FSB Insurance Service, highlighted just 1% of the broker’s policy count is cyber insurance.

“We don’t have enough micro-SME examples and case studies to present to our customers to highlight the value of the cyber,” she explained.
