Free insurer appetite tool launched for brokers

launch button

Serial entrepreneur James Buckley-Thorp has launched a free website designed to tell brokers which markets will write a risk, and predicted non-users will be at a disadvantage within a year.

The website, whowritesthis.co.uk, claims to cover 388 markets, from the composites to specialist managing general agents, providing 200 niche landing pages such as ‘who writes salon risk in Wales?’

The start-up explained that UK insurance brokers can type a risk “in plain English” – for example, for a Surrey-based scaffolder with £2m turnover – and then see a ranking of “every insurer, MGA and Lloyd’s market with appetite for it”.
