Zurich’s Beazley takeover set for 1 October with regulatory approvals in place
Zurich’s £8.1bn Beazley buy has cleared all the necessary regulatory hurdles and is set to complete on 1 October, the pair have confirmed.
The all-cash transaction started with a series of bids – which first hit the headlines in January – that led to the duo revealing on 4 February they had reached an agreement in principle. The boards of the two insurers agreed the offer terms the following month.
In April, Beazley shareholders gave the green light for the sale to go ahead.
With the deal rubber-stamped by all parties, a court hearing has been scheduled for 22 September 2026 to sign it all off.
