Profile: MGAA’s Mike Keating
Mike Keating, CEO of the Managing General Agents’ Association, looks back on his career in insurance and discusses how the MGA market will continue to evolve.
Keating, pictured, went straight into insurance at 16 working at the Prudential. He reflects there were still tea ladies, and directors and senior managers in their wooden offices who staff were “absolutely scared” of.
He paints a picture of a time when cycling clipped agents went out on bikes collecting industrial life premiums.
His period at the firm gave Keating “real insight” into the end customer.
