MGA capacity backer Accelerant to switch back to private status
US-headquartered Accelerant, a major player in the UK managing general agents market, is returning to private ownership after floating on the New York Stock Exchange last year.
The risk exchange platform and capacity provider listed in an IPO in July 2025 raising $723.7m (£533.9m) and beating expectations at $21 a share.
However, after ticking up to a $30 high– giving it a market cap well over $6bn – the price dropped by a third at the end of August 2025 when the market was spooked by the level of hybrid insurer Hadron’s involvement in third-party premium.
