Renters’ Rights Act strengthens brokers’ role as trusted advisers to landlords – Aviva research

A survey of over 500 UK landlords has pinpointed brokers and insurers as the leading source of support as they navigate an increasingly complex regulatory environment, according to Aviva.

The insurer conducted the research in May and June after the Renters Rights Act came into force on 1 May.

The reforms, widely described as fundamentally changing the legal framework governing landlord-tenant relationships, included banning ‘no-fault’ evictions under Section 21, stricter limits on rent increases, that landlords can only request one month’s rent in advance and that tenants can ask to keep pets.
