Covéa promotes Long to COO

Stephen Long, chief operating officer at Covéa Insurance

Covéa Insurance has promoted Stephen Long to chief operating officer in the latest of a series of personnel changes at the insurer.

Long, pictured, has been with the provider for 25 years having joined as a graduate trainee in 2001.

He steps up from being claims, IT and operations director, a post he has held since September 2024.

Covéa confirmed he will continue to lead its claims, operations, IT and customer functions, and keep his spot on the executive committee.

Aviva doubling down for customers, says Martin

Aviva is committed to pushing on with an “absolute focus on customer” and will continue “doubling down”, David Martin, managing director for UK commercial and chief distribution officer, told Insurance Age as he teased a “major new proposition” pencilled in for the end of the third quarter will catch brokers’ eyes.
