Broker Expo 2026: AI will kill off lazy brokers
Charlie Hicks, managing director of EIC Insurance Services Limited, has highlighted old-fashioned broking still has a “massive place” in today’s insurance market and can make a firm stand out compared to competitors. And added AI might benefit those brokers who do this.
“Absolutely use technology to help efficiencies, but don’t be afraid of getting out there and looking someone in the eyes,” he told the audience at Insurance Age’s Broker Expo event at Birmingham NEC yesterday (8 October).
During the session Emerging risks: what brokers need to prepare for next, Ayush Kanungo, head of insurance at InsureSafeLine, observed it is key for brokers to adopt a proactive approach to speaking to clients rather than working on a reactive basis.
