Profits leap for JLT

Half yearly results show profit before tax grew to £99.2m from £55.2m in 2016.

JLT said it had made “good progress” in the first half of 2017 as its interim results revealed profit before tax of £99.2m.

This leapt up from the £55.2m posted in the same period last year.

According to the broker, total revenues increased by 11%, or 3% at constant rates of exchange to £689.9m (2016: £619.4m).

The Group also said it achieved organic revenue growth of 3%, compared with 1% for the same period in 2016, reflecting strong business retention and new client wins.

The broker noted
