Madison Dearborn Partners becomes second largest Towergate shareholder
Tango Investments buys up 17.9% of voting rights.
US private equity firm Madison Dearborn Partners (MDP) has now completed the first stage of its investment in Towergate picking up 17.9% of voting rights and becoming the second largest shareholder.
Under the original announcement MDP used Tango Investments to bid for Towergate's holding companies Sentry Holdings and TIG Topco.
Technically the offer made in September was a takeover bid for the whole company.
However, via talks prior to the deal, it knew that the main shareholders - HPS
