Independent Insurance's new Irish operation goes live today, with a team of 20 planned by the end of the first year.The Dublin-based branch will be headed up by Michael Gaughan, who was previously Independent's marketing manager in the UK. He has already recruited Neil McSherry as regional underwriting manager and Alan Gill as risk control manager - both have been with Independent for the past eight years. Further staff will be recruited from the Irish sector.
