Axa wins Ted Baker theft claim

High Court rules in favour of the insurer after long running legal battle.

Axa has won a long running multi-million legal battle against Ted Baker.

The UK clothing firm wanted to claim loss of profit after a series of thefts from its warehouse between 2004 and 2008.

However, Axa insisted that the financial losses fell within the policy excess.

The High Court ruled in Axa's favour, with a hearing to determine the award of costs to be held in the next few weeks. The judge said there was no claim to answer because the retailer could not prove the loss of profit.
